Where does the formula for area of a circle come from?

Please finish the circle packet. Even if you’re stuck on a problem, write what you CAN about the problem (what is given, what are we looking for? what formula(s) could we use?)

  • Monday’s test is open book. This means you can use your notes. No cell phones. No textbook. Your class notes and homework are allowed.
  • Unless you are entitled to extra time, there will be NO extra time allotted for this test. This is due to the nature of this test (open-book).
The circles booklet should be fully completed and corrected. Answers will be posted in class tomorrow so you can double check everything.

Circles Open-book Task

  • You can ONLY use your notes from class, not someone else’s (be prepared to hand these in along with your test)
  • NO phones or textbooks
  • I highly HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend having a formula sheet with area and circumference of a circle as well as the re-arranged formulas that isolate radius and diameter. I have put this on the board multiple times over the past week.
